The Dax Professional Development and Training Programs are designed to stimulate, educate and inspire. They enable participants to develop a richer and more empathetic understanding of the experiences of people who have lived with mental illness and/or trauma through an encounter with their art.
The Centre’s innovative programs are varied and topical, from exploring the themes addressed in The Dax Centre’s exhibitions, to developing skills and understanding issues related to mental health and artmaking. The Dax Centre aims to promote a greater role for art and art therapy in mainstream health and mental health care.
Presented by experts in their fields, the Professional Development and Training Programs provide opportunities for students and professionals of arts therapy, mental health, education and other related fields to explore the interface between mental health, art and the emotional world utilising a multi-dimensional framework.
